Try to avoid exiting Activesync on the Pocket PC. Also try hitting "Sync" on the Pocket PC in ActiveSync. Other than that, if ActiveSync says "Not Connected" despite the fact the Pocket PC is in the cradle - You may just need to take it out and put it back in the cradle. If it continually occurs, try soft resetting
